Self-Care Pamphlet in Illness:
Waist Disc
Men Surgery Ward
* Waist disc definition:
Dislocation or protrusion of the central part or core of the disc.
* Causes of waist disc:
1) Underlying factors such as genetics
2) Sitting and walking and sleeping in the wrong way
3) Lifting and carrying heavy objects
* Note:
Waist disc disease commonly develops from the third decade onwards.
* Waist disc symptoms:
Waist disc disease usually starts with pain in the lower back. In the early stages, this pain only occurs in the lower back and does not spread to other parts. But if we do not pay attention to it and its cause is not resolved, the continuation of these pressures in the central part of the vertebrae will cause the disc to protrude and cause pressure and other complications in the nerve root.
Following these injuries, pain appears and this pain can spread to the hips, back of the legs, knees, ankles and fingers.
* Prevention:
1) Exercising
2) Weight loss
3) Not lifting heavy objects
4) Sitting, sleeping and walking in the correct way
* Self-care after waist disc surgery:
